If you encounter the following error message when running the validation (PAY140) observation report, it is because the transaction date on the timesheet is before the date effective of the salary on the position history table.

To resolve this, we've compiled a list of steps on how to resolve them.

Check date effective

To check the effective date of the salary, follow the steps below in portal.

  1. Click Manage Payroll then highlight the relevant pay group.

  2. Click the Inputs tab then click General.

  3. Click Maintain Employee Position/Point.

Amend transaction date

To amend the transaction date, follow the steps below.

  1. Click Employee then in the search field, search for employee.

  2. Beside the relevant employee, click VIEW.

  3. Click Timesheet Current Period.

  4. Amend the transaction date to equal the salary date effective.

πŸ“ŒNote: If the transaction date of the timesheet is after the date effective of the employee's position/point. Check the set-up of the pay code referenced on the observation report.

  1. Click Settings, then under Codes, click Pay Code (Classic).

  2. From the Pay Code drop-down menu, select the relevant pay code.

  3. Click Allowances/Payments tab, check the Rate Seq Number field defaults to 1. If not set field to 1.

  4. Click Edit, then check the Analysis Code field.
