When managing payroll, using a manual PRSI/NI Weeks override can result in inaccuracies in the total PRSI Weeks recorded in an employee's history. This issue occurs when the override applies only to the current payroll period, leading to discrepancies in historical data.

The incorrect total of PRSI Weeks in an employee's history happens because a manual PRSI/NI Weeks override affects only the current payroll period.

If you need the specified number of PRSI Weeks from the override to be recorded in history for the current payroll period, follow the steps below after completing the update in Back Office.

  1. Click CorePay then Employee.

  2. Click PAYE/PRSI/TFA/Cumulatives then click Amend PRSI/NI Class/Weeks.

  3. In the Employee field, to search for the employee, click the query icon.

  4. In the lower section of the screen, manually re-enter the weeks value for the required periods.

⚠️Important: For example, if you need to set 1 to 2 and 2 to 0, proceed accordingly. Do not re-enter the override PRSI weeks.

  5. To save changes, click Save.
