If you encounter this error on PAY529A when retrieving an RPN, it indicates that you haven't retrieved the new employees' RPN details.

To resolve this issue, complete the steps as described in the table below:

Step

Details

Retrieve employee RPN details

This retrieves any updates for existing employees.

Do this step first and run fully through completing the update step.

Retrieve new employee RPN details

This looks for any new starters or rejoiners for the current payroll period and it sends a request to Revenue for these employees for an RPN and then carry out the update step.

  • If Revenue has one, then they send these back.

  • If not, CorePay puts the employees on emergency tax, and it sends the employees to Revenue in the submission file as a new joiner after the payroll is closed.

Revenue then sends back the RPN details for the following payroll.

If you don't retrieve new employee RPN details, CorePay automatically puts any new starters on emergency tax and then sends the employees to Revenue in the submission file as a new joiner after the payroll is closed.

Revenue then sends back the RPN details for the following payroll.

Run this step when all new starters have been brought into CorePay for the payroll period.
