If an employee is marked as dormant after they join and leave within the same month, it is because their leave date is entered simultaneously with their start date in People Management.
To follow the correct process, first enter the start date and then bring the employee over to Payroll. After that, you can enter the end date, which will update their status to 'leaving.'
If you add a leave date when setting up the employee, the system will change their status to dormant. Dormant employees will not appear as starters or leavers on the Payroll Exceptions report.
