Re-submitting PAYE (Pay As You Earn) modernisation involves updating and submitting payroll information to reflect the latest compliance standards and tax regulations.
This is necessary to ensure that employee tax deductions are accurate and align with legal requirements.
πNote: If a wrong payment date has been used for PAYE modernisation, you need to call Revenue to inform them of the error, then submit a correction file.
To correct the file, follow the steps below in the relevant section.
Portal
Enable previous period
Click Manage Payroll then highlight the relevant pay group.
Click the Outputs tab then click ROS.
Click PAYE Modernisation then click Pay Group Parameters.
For the relevant pay group, turn on the Previous periods toggle.
If there is an entry showing against the expected pay period, remove this.
To save changes, click Save.
Process a full resubmission
Click Manage Payroll then highlight the relevant pay group.
Click the Outputs tab then click ROS.
Click the PAYE Modernisation then click PAYE Modernisation Files Process.
From the Select PAYE action drop-down menu, select Generate Submission File.
From the Submission type drop-down menu, select Full resubmission.
From the Pay Group drop-down menu, select the relevant group.
Select the relevant period and the payment date then click OK.
To check if the file shows the correct date, go to the Report Centre.
Transfer resubmission file
Click Manage Payroll then highlight the relevant pay group.
Click the Outputs tab then click ROS.
Click the PAYE Modernisation then click PAYE Modernisation Files Process.
From the Select PAYE Action drop-down menu, select Transfer Submission Files.
From the Company drop-down menu, select the relevant company.
To transfer file, turn on the Transfer File toggle.
Click Transfer then to confirm, click YES.
To view Revenue response, review the Status field:
Transferred: Transfer received by Revenue.
Rejected: If rejected, a reason displays in the Status field.
Accepted: Acknowledged by Revenue. This will generate a response file in the Report Centre.
The run check request is generated automatically. Once processed, review the Status field:
Accepted COMPLETED: All Valid Payslips - No further action needed.
Accepted COMPLETED: Invalid Payslips - Review and correct the invalid data. Generate and transfer the new submission file.
Pending: To check the status, click Run Check.
No Response: To get a response or contact Revenue, click Run Check.
Check the ROS if the correct figures show.
Disable previous period
Click Manage Payroll then highlight the relevant pay group.
Click the Outputs tab then click ROS.
Click PAYE Modernisation then click Pay Group Parameters.
For the relevant pay group, turn off the Previous periods toggle.
To save changes, click Save.
Back Office
Enable previous period
Click CorePay then click Update.
Click Paye Modernisation, then double-click on Pay Group Parameters.
For the relevant pay group, turn on the Previous periods toggle.
Click OK.
Process a full resubmission
Click CorePay then click Update.
Click Paye Modernisation.
From the Generate/Transfer drop-down menu, select Generate Submission File.
From the Submission type drop-down menu, select Full resubmission.
In the Pay Group field, enter the relevant pay group.
Select the relevant period and the payment date then click OK.
This will generate a file; check that the file shows the correct date.
Transfer resubmission file
Click CorePay then click Update.
Click Paye Modernisation.
From the Generate/Transfer drop-down menu, select Transfer Submission Files.
From the Company drop-down menu, select the relevant company.
To transfer file, turn on the Transfer File toggle.
Click Transfer then to confirm, click YES.
Disable previous period
Click CorePay then click Update.
Click Paye Modernisation, then double-click on Pay Group Parameters.
For the relevant pay group, turn off the Previous periods toggle.
Click OK.
