Analysis code: Every pay code is linked to an analysis code so effectively this means that pay codes can be grouped into analysis codes for the purpose of reporting i.e. Overtime Analysis Code could be linked to OT@1, [email protected], OT@2, [email protected] etc
Pay Code: A paycode is the base element of an employee's pay profile i.e. Salary, OT@1, PAYE, NI EE, NI ER, EE Pension, Student Loan, etc. It is the lowest transactional element within CoreHR.
Labour Cost Group: Labour cost groups are similar to analysis codes in that you can link pay codes to them which effectively means that you that your pay codes can be grouped into labour cost groups for the purpose of reporting. Unlike analysis codes however labour cost groups are not mandatory.
There are also employee classifications which can be configured.
Category: Is used to categorise employees according to their profession or their collective bargaining practice i.e. professional/technical.
Sub Category: Can be used to further categorise employees based on the Category field i.e. Technical.
Status: Is used to describe the status or type of employment i.e. permanent.
Sub Status: Further breakdown of employee status i.e. part-time.
Management Unit: Typically referred to as a directorate or business unit. Business units group together multiple related divisions in a company.
Department: Functional areas and responsibilities example recruitment, finance, I.T. etc.
Division: Distinct units of the business based on the types of products or services or geographic locations, e.g. Manufacturing.
Location: The physical location of the where the Employee works
Payroll Company: A minimum of one CorePay company code is required in the system. You should have one CorePay company code for each revenue return. Remember, you will always need one company code.
The only reason you need to set up a second company in CorePay is if the organisation has a separate registered company with Revenue. Effectively two companies means that when you have completed all payrolls at the end of the tax year you will have to file two sets of Revenue Returns.
HR Company: A single company(legal entity) or some companies treated as one corporate group.
Pay Group: A pay group is a logical grouping of payees with a common pay frequency within a payroll company. All payees in a pay group are processed together for payment.
Job Title: An employee’s job title for system purposes.
Work Group: A Work Group is used to represent the employee’s team. Each employee must be assigned a work group to indicate what team they are part of and who their line-manager is
Cost Centre: A cost centre is a unit within your company, to which costs may be allocated for cost accounting purposes. These should be in line with the cost centres set up in your financial system
Project: A project is a temporary endeavour with a defined beginning and end (usually time-constrained, and often constrained by funding or deliverables), undertaken to meet unique goals and objectives
Position Code: A pay scale/grade/position in conjunction with the scale point defines the amount of pay an employee will receive. The pay grade is generally defined by the level of responsibility associated with the employee’s job and the length of time they have been in employment.
