If the employee’s PRSI class value displays incorrectly during payroll processing, it happens because the employee’s letter reverts to incorrect PRSI class values set within the pension tax limits.

PeopleXD will not be able to detect whether an employee receives SPC. As a result, it will not automatically apply the correct rules or update PRSI class values for employees in this age group. When pension tax limits contain incorrect values, the employee’s PRSI class reverts to those values during updates.

To resolve this, remove the incorrect PRSI class settings from pension tax limits to prevent unwanted reversion. Additionally, automatic updates for employees in these age brackets may need to be disabled, requiring you to manually update the PRSI class based on revenue RPN instructions.

To ensure the correct PRSI class remains in place after RPN updates, follow the steps below.

  1. Click Settings then under Ireland Tax Rates, click Old Age Pension Rates.

  2. Click Pension Tax Limits then click the relevant age and pension tax limit.

  3. In the From and To PRSI Class fields, remove the class values.

  4. To save changes, click Save.
