Steps to Set up an hourly rate pay code with set rate of pay.

To set up an hourly pay code that uses a set rate of pay different from the employee's hourly rate, this needs to be created as a scaled rate allowance pay code.

To create a new scaled allowance pay code, follow the steps below in Portal.

  1. Click Settings then click Pay Code.

  2. Click the Create New Pay Code.

  3. From the Payment Type drop-down list, select Allowance.

  4. From the Subset Type drop-down list, select Scaled.

  5. In the Pay Code field, enter the relevant pay code number.

  6. In the Pay Code Description field, enter a pay code description.

  7. Click OK then to add scale points to the pay code, click Add.

  8. Fill in the available field options to add scale points.

Date Effective (Mandatory)

Enter the date from which the scale point becomes effective.

Reference (Mandatory)

Enter a reference to identify the scale point range

Scale Point (Mandatory)

Enter a scale point number, indicating to which point on the scale the rate relates.

Hourly Rate (Optional)

Enter the scale points hourly rate.

Daily Rate (Optional)

Enter the scale points daily rate.

Annual Rate (Optional)

Enter the scale points annual rate.

Weekly Rate (Optional)

Enter the scale points weekly rate.

Threshold Days (Optional)

Enter the scale points threshold days.

Unit Rate (Optional)

Enter the scale points unit rate.

  1. Enter details of the first scale point then click OK.

  2. Repeat the above steps until all the scale points are entered.

  3. Click Next twice then click Save.
