To set up an hourly pay code that uses a set rate of pay different from the employee's hourly rate, this needs to be created as a scaled rate allowance pay code.
To create a new scaled allowance pay code, follow the steps below in Portal.
Click Settings then click Pay Code.
Click the Create New Pay Code.
From the Payment Type drop-down list, select Allowance.
From the Subset Type drop-down list, select Scaled.
In the Pay Code field, enter the relevant pay code number.
In the Pay Code Description field, enter a pay code description.
Click OK then to add scale points to the pay code, click Add.
Fill in the available field options to add scale points.

Date Effective (Mandatory) | Enter the date from which the scale point becomes effective. |
Reference (Mandatory) | Enter a reference to identify the scale point range |
Scale Point (Mandatory) | Enter a scale point number, indicating to which point on the scale the rate relates. |
Hourly Rate (Optional) | Enter the scale points hourly rate. |
Daily Rate (Optional) | Enter the scale points daily rate. |
Annual Rate (Optional) | Enter the scale points annual rate. |
Weekly Rate (Optional) | Enter the scale points weekly rate. |
Threshold Days (Optional) | Enter the scale points threshold days. |
Unit Rate (Optional) | Enter the scale points unit rate. |
Enter details of the first scale point then click OK.
Repeat the above steps until all the scale points are entered.
Click Next twice then click Save.
