Car benefit details not showing on FPS when not using the Car Admin Centre

No Benefits in Kind (BIK) car details showing on Full Payment Submission (FPS) when not using the Car Admin Centre in portal.

When reporting BIK through RTI without using the Car Admin Centre, car benefit details may not appear on the FPS; this is usually due to misconfiguration in the RTI settings or employee BIK records.

To resolve this, follow the steps below.


Check RTI parameters

To check the RTI parameters have been set correctly, follow the steps below.

  1. Click Settings then under UK Tax Rates, click General.

  2. Click RTI then From the Select Detail drop-down menu, select Payment Pay Codes.

  3. Scroll to the relevant car pay code then check the toggle is enabled for the BIK Car Pay Code.

  4. To save changes, click Save.

  5. Turn on the Return Car Details From Payroll toggle.

  6. Turn off the Car Portal Admin Centre On toggle.

  7. Click Save.

If the BIK value is displaying but the car details are missing, check that the Company Car toggle is turned on for the employee's BIK record.


Check Employee BIK records

To check that the Company Car toggle is enabled for the employee, follow the steps below.

πŸ“ŒNote: If the car is not marked as a company car, the details will not be reported.

  1. Click Employee then in the search field, search for employee.

  2. Beside the relevant employee, click VIEW.

  3. Click BIK then for the relevant car BIK pay code, click the three dot menu.

  4. Click Edit then make necessary changes.

  5. To save changes, click Save.
