A log file is a record of system activities and errors that helps track processes and troubleshoot issues.
Retrieving a log file is important for identifying the root cause of problems and ensuring accurate system diagnostics.
πNote: To retrieve a log file in back office, follow these steps.
Retrieve log file
To retrieve a log file please follow the steps below.
Click Settings and select View Job Status.
Click Retrieve Log File.
If you don't see this option, you need to enable the menu option of the user requiring access.
Enable menu option
To enable the Retrieve Log File option, you'll need to adjust the menu options under the menu profile assigned to the user.
To do this, follow these steps below.
From the dashboard menu, select Security Dashboard.
Click Menu Profiles.
In the search field, search for the menu profile assigned to the user retrieving the log file. e.g PAY_MASTER
Click the three-dot icon, then select Manage Menu Options.
To filter the systems, click the filter
icon.
From the Filter By System dropdown menu, select CorePortal Pay.
Click Apply.
In the search field, search for the following menu options:
WS_PAYROLL_MENU.GET_SETTINGS_LOGFILE
Turn on toggle.
Assign employee access
After enabling the menu option, verify that the user is assigned the appropriate menu profile. To grant or update access for the user, follow these steps in portal
From the dashboard menu, select Security Dashboard.
Click User Management.
In the search field, enter the employee number.
From the drop down menu, select All Portal Accounts.
Click the three-dot icon then select Manage Menu Options.
Click Menu Profiles then in the search field, enter relevant menu profile.
Check the employee has the menu profile turned on.
