PeopleXD Payroll does not automatically update an employee’s SMP when they receive a pay increase during Maternity Leave.
To ensure compliance with the Alabaster ruling, you can manually update the Average Weekly Earnings (AWE) to reflect the revised rate.
To override the AWE figure, follow the steps below in Portal.
Click Employee then in the Employee field, search for the employee.
Click View then click Maintain Statutory.
Highlight the relevant maternity leave record, then click the three dot icon.
Click Edit.
In the Average Weekly Earnings field, enter the new AWE figure.
Click Submit.
Once payroll is run next or single validation is performed against the employee, the newly overridden AWE figure will be used to calculate SMP.
