If the EPS response file in the Reports Centre shows an error, it may be due to the company name being too long for HMRC's validation or containing invalid characters.
To resolve this issue, review the username. To do this, follow the steps below.
Click Settings then under Organisations, click Organisations.
From the Code dropdown list, select the relevant company.
From the Select Details drop-down menu, select Payroll Parameters.
Under the Banking Details section, review the Username field.
To save any changes, click Save.
