Pay code category

Guidance on how to add, edit and delete a pay code category groups in Portal.

Pay code category groups allow you to group a collection of pay codes, making it easier to input and maintain payroll report definitions on an insight report setup screen.

For example, you can set up a pay code category group for overtime pay codes, or bonus pay codes.

To do this, follow the steps below in Portal.


Enable menu option

To provide a user access to the Pay Code Category screen in Portal, you need to enable the following menu options. To do this, follow these steps.

  1. From the dashboard menu, select Security Dashboard.

  2. Click Menu Profiles.

  3. In the search field, search for the menu profile assigned to the user viewing the Pay Code Category screen e.g PAY_MASTER.

  4. Click the three-dot icon then click Manage Menu Options.

  5. To filter the systems, click the filter icon.

  6. From the Filter By System dropdown menu, select All.

  7. Click Apply.

  8. In the search field, search for the following menu options:

    • Settings - Pay Code Category Groups

    • Create settings paycodecategory

    • Create settings paycodecategory item

    • Delete settings paycodecategory

    • Delete settings paycodecategory item

    • Get settings paycodecategory

    • Get settings paycodecategory item

    • Get settings paycodecategory paycode

    • Update settings paycodecategory

  9. Enable the toggle for the menu options above.


Add a pay code category

To add pay code in the Pay Code Category screen, follow these steps.

  1. Click Settings then click Pay Code Categories.

  2. Click Add.

  3. In the Name field, enter the name of your pay code category.

  4. Click OK.

  5. To add the relevant pay codes, select the check boxes.

  6. To assign pay codes to a category, click the right arrow icon.

  7. Changes are saved automatically.


Edit a pay code category

To add pay code in the Pay Code Category screen, follow these steps.

  1. Click Settings then click Pay Code Category Groups.

  2. Highlight the relevant pay code then click the three dot icon.

  3. Click Edit.

  4. To remove or add pay codes, click the arrows icon.

  5. Changes are applied automatically.

  6. To edit the category name and type, click RENAME.

    πŸ“ŒNote: If no pay codes are assigned, you can change the type between Allowance and Deduction.

  7. Click OK.


Delete a pay code category

To delete a pay code in the Pay Code Category screen, follow these steps.

  1. Click Settings then click Pay Code Category Groups.

  2. Highlight the relevant pay code then click the three dot icon.

  3. Click Delete.
