If an employee holds a second non-pensionable appointment and it incorrectly combines both positions to calculate the FTE, the issue is likely due to the multiplier. The multiplier may have changed for the appointment, while the actual salary remains the same. To resolve this, follow these steps:
Check the FTE on the appointment then examine the multiplier associated with the salary under this appointment. The FTE is not used for the calculation, instead, the multiplier is. To correct this, change the multiplier on the salary.
The current multiplier will include both appointments combined but will be capped at 1.
Additionally, there is a field in the Sundry Profile called OAP Pay Multiplier that can be utilized if needed. You will need to calculate the required value for this field. The system will first apply the employee's pay multiplier to the OAP, then apply the OAP Pay Multiplier to that resulting value. This is not an override of the employee pay multiplier but rather an additional multiplier that can be applied.
