When you review the calendar as part of the post year end cleardown, after you checked the pay group offset days, you must report the expected number of pay periods for each pay group in your payroll.

πŸ“ŒNote: By default, if you don't select a value, payroll reports 52 weeks, 26 fortnights, or 13 four-weekly periods depending on the pay frequency.

Report the expected number of pay periods for weekly, fortnightly, and four-weekly pay groups where you've set week 53, week 54, or week 56 scenarios to arise in the current tax year.

Revenue uses this information to determine if a Week One or Cumulative RPN is issued when an employee moves jobs or pay frequencies.

To do this, follow the steps below in Portal.

  1. Click Uploads then click PAYE Modernisation.

  2. Click Pay Group Parameters.

  3. For payroll to output this value on the Payment Submission File:

    • If you expect a 14th four weekly period for 2022, select 14.

    • If you expect a fortnight 27 for 2022, select 27.

    • If you expect a week 53 for 2022, select 53.
