Error: 'Pension already exists for the employee/Scheme Code'

When assigning an employee a pension scheme or opting in an employee who previously had a pension, the following error appears.

If you assign an employee a pension scheme or opt in an employee who previously had a pension and the following error appears, it is because you are attempting to add a new pension scheme to an employee that already has a record of the same scheme type.

The correct process is to enter a new start and end date in the existing record of the scheme for the employee and remove any opt out reason present.
