Portal: Configure Employment Allowance parameters

Set up a company for the Employment Allowance or configure the Employment Allowance when it's been rejected by HMRC or it isn't appearing on the Employer Payment summary.

The Employment Allowance was introduced in the UK Budget in 2015. This is a Company allowance that reduces employer NIC liability and is configured in PeopleXD under the RTI section of Maintain Statutory Pay Parameters.

Employee allowance parameters

  1. Click Settings then under UK Tax Rates section, click General.

  2. Click RTI then in the Employment Allowance field, enter the employment allowance amount.

  3. In the Select Detail drop down menu, select Company Allowance.

  4. For each company you want to claim allowanace, set employee allowance to either Yes /No.

  5. Click Save.
